Job Duties and Responsibilities

At Mountain Dermatology Specialists, we strive to provide excellent customer service at every point of contact with patients and customers.  The Medical Assistant supports in a clinical and administrative manner for providers.  This person should enjoy working in a team oriented environment.  Mountain Dermatology utilizes an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and scheduling software, as well as Microsoft products on a daily basis. 

Consistent and on time attendance is an essential function of the position Performs selected nursing and administrative duties Prepares and thoroughly documents in patient chart Maintains patient files, records and other information Prepares exam and treatment rooms in orderly manner with necessary instruments and supplies. Phones in patient prescriptions and documents accordingly in patient chart Providers patient education and instruction Assistants in surgery Assists with scheduling of surgeries and treatments Screens telephone calls for appropriate referral/ triage and documents accordingly Assists with laboratory duties Maintains strict patient confidentiality Upholds guidelines set forth in organization Maintains a neat and professional appearance, demonstrates commitment and dependability

Qualifications

Must be able to multi-task Ability to communicate clearly. Skilled in planning, organizing and troubleshooting Skilled in verbal and written communication Ability to input accurate patient information into Electronic Medical Record Ability to take initiative, exercise judgement, problem-solve and promote decision-making Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA regulations Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment Skilled in developing and maintaining department quality assurance Ability to maintain quality control standards Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, physicians, and the public Ability to work within a Care Team Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
